Veera is a social innovator from Singapore who works in the space between Sustainability and the Maker Movement. He’s among the pioneers of the Maker Movement in Singapore, having started the first local makerspace in 2011 and has gone on to develop the ecosystem around the maker movement in Southeast Asia. A firm believer in making that is purposeful, he has co-founded 4 maker organisations which are working to advance sustainable development goals, address youth unemployment, develop new businesses and seed networks for makers in Southeast Asia. In his capacity as Founder & Director at Sustainable Living Lab (SL2), he led the organisation to be awarded the President’s Challenge Youth Social Enterprise of the Year Award and the ASEAN+3 Young Entrepreneurs Towards Sustainable Development Award in 2015.
